Good question. I had heard he died a few years ago but apparently it was a
hoax. Anybody know?

As for mullets, I haven't seen a comeback per se; those sporting the
'ape-drape' are true die hards. Even Bon Jovi snipped theirs.
The big retro cut now (at least in LA) is the muttonchops/Gram
Parsons/Jandek-White Box Requiem look.
