Back in my DJ days, I did a punk rock show in late '76-early '77. As there
wasn't a whole lot to fill up 2 hours of very short songs, I'd have "The Metal
Machine Moment". Every Sunday at 7PM I'd have MMM on 1 turntable, & whatever
drech was huge in AM or bad FM circles. I'd announce which side & which part of
the LP (beginng, middle , end) I'd be playing. Earlier in the show, I'd take
requests for most hated hit, & play it simultaneously on the other turntable,
then scratch the needle across it. Biggest winners were Eagles, Mac & Boston. I
was stopped from doing it after a couple of months from the showtune-loving
general manager
