Re: (TV) OT: Earliest memory of rock

From: "Philip P. Obbard" <pobbard@yahoo.com>

earliest tv memory: in 1991, when i was sixteen i heard "venus de milo". it was on a radio show in sweden to which people could write and wish for their favourite 70's songs. mostly it was shit like "ring my bell", curved air, emerson lake & palmer, allman brothers etc etc, but one nite they played television. and i just loved the lyrics and the guitars, even if i didn't hear what he sang. i didn't get that "my hands felt like gloves.... broadway looks so medieval it seems to flap like little pages" part until years later.

earliest music memory is Carola. she is a star here in sweden, looking a bit like the 80's version of neve campell (with fara fawcett hairdo)

she sang Christian songs, like "he's got he whole world in his hands" and also Christmas songs and a little bit of country too. she is really awful but i loved her as a kid. she made a record with that ungly tosser from bee gees (which of them?), says it all. (robin gibbs?)
