i read in an old article somewhere (i can't remember) that tom used to get
mugged a lot coming back from gigs.  i remember this because i believe he
told the interviewer of one specific time that someone tried to rough him
up, but TV was so drunk, he just stood there looking at the knife-wielding
rascal.  the hoodlum said something about tom having "cat's eyes" and
decided to stay away from him.  does anyone else remember this?

Tom said in the Paper interview that "I took the stuff (heroin) because I
got beat up and these guys broke my rib."
Can someone fill me in on the circumstances of this incident. I never heard
of him getting beat up.
