Re: (TV) tv on tv

Ah that would be the late, lamented TV program 'the Tube', which did indeed have Tom Verlaine on playing a couple of songs off the 'Flashlight' album, back in the salad days of 1987.

Sadly, I didn't have a video at the time. As I remember it, he played "Walker" and "Bomb" in full beret, black Jazzmaster get-up. I think he played one more song, maybe "Scientist"?

Gah, but 'the Tube' was great. PIL, Iggy Pop etc. All live, all the time.

Hi there,

I have a hazy memory of seeing Verlaine playing live on a British-import TV
show (I can't remember what it was called!)around the time of 'Flashlight'.
He played a super-killer extended solo on 'Bomb'.
In the past year I saw a video up for auction on eBay, which purported to be a Spanish TV broadcast of Verlaine playing live, around the same time. Maybe
this is the same footage. At any rate, somebody out there outbid me, and
<<like the wind I weeps>>.
Then there was the video for 'A Town Called Walker', which actually was
shown on MTV a few times!
Tantalizing eh? Maybe someone on the list can shed more light.
