I asked Richard about this and he said,

"'The Knockdown' was originally written for a movie PRODUCED, not
directed, by Martin Scorcese. Hal Wilner the was the musical
coordinator that had me look at the film, a black comedy, and submit
something. I did a mockup on 4 track and he liked it for the scene but
then the shit hit the fan and the whole thing ended in lawsuits. The
movie came out but with NO music whatsoever. I can't remember the title
but it was a funny movie with name actors which did as they say -- no
business. I got a song out of it. That's all, folks."

There you go.
