Re: (TV) shameful taste/ 80s digital dungeon

Can I just be the first to say that the 80s were wonderful?

Duran Duran taught us how to laugh; Hollywood showed us that a movie
didn't have to have a brain to be a success; the novel did away once and
for all with the notion that you had to have some talent to get one
published; it was much easier to make a useful coaster from a CD than it
had been to make an ashtray from unwanted vinyl; the snare drum sound on
Bowie's "Let's Dance" paved the way towards new horizons in recorded
sound and the hollowness at the core of popular culture was finally
celebrated rather than obscured with any messy notions of "art" or
"vision".

The 90s, though, they _were_ crap.
