RE: (TV) Lennon tribute

Just saw it. I think your first description was more accurate, Dan, the one
about murdering it in a good way. The band was tight and the crowd wasn't
booing; they were saying 'LOU!'

All through, before each verse, you wondered how he was going to change the
melody to suit his low voice. Each line was another cool addition to the Lou
melodic dictionary.

I don't think that was Quine behind him. The bearded guitarist played
throught the show. It could have been him but he didn't solo or anything.
Dave Stewart was back there.

Speaking of maiming a tune, did you catch Kevin Spacy doing 'Mind Games'?
Fabulous.
He managed to transform Radio City Music Hall into a Koreatown karaoke bar.
Acting!

Hmmmm
I'll try and work out when Reed played, cos the rest of it was pretty
stinky. Reed's performance wasn't good as such either, he bellowed his way
through the song in his current 'singing' style, i.e like a bullock havings
its testicles removed with a rusty can-opener. It was just amusing that he
offended all the suits and got loudly boo-ed for his troubles.
