You're right Ray(as you are about Mercury Rev), don't know where I got the drummer bit from. Didn't realise he wrote more hits.

you mean Albert Hammond jnr the guitarist i presume Nick- you'd be surprised 
at how many hits ole AH Snr has actually written apart from Free Electric
Band -i certainly was-
the Strokes have grown on me a little over the past few months despite my
initial
reservations but maybe that's because that song "last night" is being played 
everywhere i go and is totally bloody
unavoidable
