Re: (TV) The Lost Album

Andy,

The story is as follows. Tom signed to the Fontana imprint in late
1985. He then went into the studio with Dave Bascombe producing.
Several tracks were cut for a proposed album. They were as follows:

Sixteen Tulips
The Scientist Writes A Letter I
The Scientist Writes A Letter II
Caveman Flashlight
Vanity Fair (short version)
Unknown song (which we'll call Ah, Lee)
One Time At Sundown I
Anna
Vanity Fair (long version)
Call Me The
One Time At Sundown II

There was another batch of sessions to the above which included
Circling.

As you can see, a lot of the stuff eventually emerged on b-sides
and compilation albums. There's only one song that's completely
unknown. The Scientist features different lyrics and different guitar
parts though they're the same basic track as that on the album.

Polydor didn't like what they heard and asked Tom to start again.
Flash Light followed. Polydor were always a bunch of wankers, eh,
Ray?
