Re: (TV) Re: TV Digest V1 #630

Emilie --

No, I was behind a Rondo Hatton-lookalike (from the back, anyway) and his
hyperthyroid friend, both in dark coats. I kept having to shift back and
forth to see Tom, then Richard, then Tom, then Richard. Sort of like one of
those eye-blinking "experiments" you did when you were 8. And I practically
had to hoist my wife on my shoulders so she could see anything at all.

Much better the second night -- in fact, seeing for the first time how the
band communicates in performance has given me a new understanding of music I
thought I'd known all this time. The way Tom (brain) sends non-verbal
messages to Billy (central nervous system) which passes them along to
Richard (right hand) and Fred (left hand)... at least until the right hand
gets exasperated and slaps the brain upside the head...

Seriously, tho, it was fascinating to see, especially during "Psychotic
Reaction," where Tom seemed to delight in pulling hard left turns every two
minutes and the rest of the band popped wheelies keeping up.

I think that's enough metaphors for one morning.
