(TV) Recent stuff

here's a few thoughts on some recent posts

first of all i have to say that i absolutely _love_ both the vinyl boot of
Arrow and the cd of Double exposure - i'd say both are totally essential TV
artefacts, in fact i play them far far more than _any_ of Verlaine's solo
stuff for sure and ARROW is def worth having alone for Poor circulation
-hell even for the intro to PC !

re the vinyl v cd debate (always a good 'un) i played the (red) vinyl
version of Adventure this morning and was amazed at how warm and how much
better it still sounds compared to the dull cd copy-i know it wasn't a
particularly great
transfer having been done during the relatively early days of the medium
but the difference is remarkable-i've been doing a lot of recording this
past few years in the digital domain
and while i love the editing facilities now possible i must say that you
still can't beat analogue when it comes to warmth of tone and the way it
naturally compresses sound.
