I hate to steal from Christgau (sp?) but he said it
best: the emotion and feelings and expression one
would imagine from the total loss of senses.  The
final words of the song anticipate what is to come.  I
imagine Verlaine in an out of body experience during
this song.  You just KNOW those eyes were closed the
entire time.  The guitar is scary and the final
crescendo puts a lump in my throat every time.  ok
enough worship for one year.
