(TV) Bowie: the music , the man Television rumor

Did anyone see Bowie on Letterman last night?

I've always loved Bowie's music (especially his album trilogy
done with Eno in late 1970s and 1980s)even his 1990s stuff,
but I loathe him as a human being (his exploiting of other
musicians and obsession with being rock's first billionaire
are legendary).

For me it's the classic dilemma of can you
separate/appreciate the art from
the artist (especially when they're an asshole)?
Bowie's the Ezra Pound of rock.

True to form last night, although his music sounded great,
his few comments to Letterman were extremely glib.

PS: To whomever posted the rumor of Television shopping
tapes of their recent NYC shows to record companies:
what are your sources for this rumor?

Ever?

If true, this is the best news I've heard in months.

New Bowie out today - 4 stars in Q, good review in Entertainment Weekly, etc.
Looks like Visconti plus a conscious decision to shoot for a SCARY
MONSTERS-esque sound might pay off, although I'm sure that annoys Bowie after
an inventive (if uneven) past decade (from BTWN onwards).

Still can't stand "A Better Future", though... and everyone knows a REAL return
to form for Bowie would have included a cover of "Souvenir from a Dream" or
"Yonki Time"...
