(TV) Quiet around here...

As it's been kind of quiet lately, I thought I'd point out that there's a very interesting series on NPR as part of Friday's Morning Edition concerning the history of recording technology. It starts with wax cylinder, goes through 78s (interviews with guys who worked in a 78 plant--quite risky), the advent of tape (did you know that Bing Crosby was an essential figure here? Oddly, Les Paul's invention of multitrack didn't seem to get a mention), on up to the LP. Two more segments to go, and the others are archived on the site. (RealAudio streaming.)
