I'm with deltoid,
 I have done great buying stuff on ebay - just recently completed a
collection of mono/stereo DJ promo 45's -
and it's all caveat emptor.
 - If the shipping costs are too high, don't bid. NOTHING is that important
that you HAVE TO buy it. Think about it. It's only stuff. What's it worth to
you?
