(TV) off topic belief

Definitely off-topic -- but if you don't believe in Jesus, why do you care whether you'll end up in heaven or not?

Plus, regardless of what Bush says -- and assuming your point is not that Bush is no authority on who does and does not get in heaven (well, whoever has that authority, please raise his or her hand, I am curious...) -- if you really want to end up in the Christian heaven, not believe in Jesus is probably not a good idea anyway.

Of course, if you happen to be Buddhist and want to go the Buddhist heaven (pure land of the west of some sort, believing in Jesus is probably optional) or Muslim (in which case, believing in Jesus is probably optional as well -- I think there may be some disagreements there, even though Jesus is considered to be one of the prophets) or believer of some other religion that has the same concept on after-life, then you probably have to believe in something or another, though believing in Jesus is most likely optional.

Off Topic: One of my favorite topics is the separation of church and state. There's a poll at Newsweek.com. in the cover story George Bush And God. Click on the article about gospel in the White House. The poll's on the left side. The Bible belt is winning. The question about morality seems to unfairly imply that, as Bush told a reporter, "You won't go to heaven if you don't believe in Jesus". Morality is one thing, using God as a political tool is another.
