But Andy, you're assuming that differing versions of different
albums were only released "in the old days". But the practice
continues. The Strokes debut CD contained different track
listings (and covers) in the US and UK. Many new albums are
released with extra tracks in Japan. I just bought a Modern
Lovers CD from Reflex because the domestic release doesn't
include 5 of the tracks the UK version does - and has a
different running order for those tracks which do overlap, too.
