RE: (TV) Not Robert Burns, Hello Soviet Union

I've also read that he has this Lithuanian heritage; I have a pretty clear memory of him talking about it in an interview once. And he sure doesn't look as healthy as the other three TV members - he's got this grey and gloomy appearance that's all too common amongst East Europeans. There's a significant difference between people from the Baltic states and us in Scandinavia, even though we are sort of neighbor countries - they look sad and hungry, while we - especially the Swedes - look happy and healthy.

Not to quibble, but from my source(s)
Verlaine is about 25% Scottish (possibly 0%,
since grandparents or great-grand parents
moved to Scotland but were not of Scottish
descent), and 75% Lithuanian.

Grandparents' original name was something like
Millarken (or Milarkov?) but was shortened to
Miller to make their assimilation in America
easier.

many Irish transplant relatives still living
in Scotland)

Toms folks are Scottish (like me) and apparently we pronounce 'castle'
differently from the English, a fact which amuses my English sister in law
but something I didnt realise until she pointed out that her daughter says
castle 'the funny scottish way'

not sure if I've got the song anywhere or not, but I'll check it oot
