actually known now as "patti smith and her band" --
she's been pretty adamant that "this is not the patti
smith group (that was then, this is now...").

however, ivan kral does pop up from time to time...i
belive he joined 'em onstage somewhere recently. 
apparently he has a new album out which she guested
on.  but it is so under-the-radar that even the
diehard "follow patti to death" folks i spent time
with at a recent gig had never heard of it.
