RE: (TV) Scotsman review / Indulge / Crenshaw

I think the author gives away her misunderstanding when she wrote:
"shuffling on stage and [then] tuning up at their leisure."
It's the same error the two people at one of their 2003
concerts made---as reported by a Lister---when they were
heard uttering during the song 'Swells', "You'd think they
would've tuned their guitars before they came out on stage!".

Also: "Masters of guitar wallow in self-indulgence and inspiration"
That's a pretty weird string of words---how does a guitarist
wallow in inspiration?

I'm writing a report and have been using my dictionary a lot so
please indulge me for a second: Does she mean "wallow":
'to indulge oneself immoderately'

"self-indulgence": 'excessive or unrestrained gratification
of one's desires or whims'

OTOH, maybe she just likes short songs (ala 1980s' Marshall
Crenshaw), and dislikes long solos.

Does anyone on this List think MM (the song) is self-indulgent?
Her choice of words recalls that old silliness about how
'Television were the Grateful Dead' of Punk'.

If Tom and Richard are masters of self-indulgence, then I say
give me more! :>)

Other than that, I thought it was a good review. :>) Leo

PS: Marshall Crenshaw has been fronting as singer and rhythm guitarist
for MC-5 (DMK) 'reunion' tour (in place of the late Rob Tyner). This is
not a joke. Here's a question, were the original MC-5 self-indulgent?
