I think that is one of the most ridiculous
generalisations I have ever heard.

I love how some so-called journalists can make such
sweeping statements without providing a single shred
of evidence to back it up. Without VU Thurston Moore
would never have even picked up a guitar?  Is every
single member of these bands quoted as saying that VU
were the primary reason they got into music?

What utter claptrap, poppycock, hogwash, codswallop,
fiddlesticks and balderdash. Just reminded me why I
don't buy music magazines anymore.

If you were to compile a list of all the
bands/artists/films/books/poets/baking products that
people have said influenced Television on this list
over the years, you'd end up with a complete history
of western (and some eastern) music, poetry, film, art
and cake-making.

And Tom, when interviewed, would probably say he hated
