Re: (TV) Verlaine and Slide Guitar

Has he ever spoken explicitly in interviews about slide guitar and who his mentors might have been ?

" Another strange sound is a switchblade knife bowing the guitar strings on the intro" is the only reference I can recall Verlaine making to slide, and that's not really a slide reference. The thing that sounds like it could be a slide after the intro is actually an ondioline ("The weird organ sound is an ondioline, invented by a Frenchman in the 40s. It's a 36-note keyboard instrument that can quiver a note by shaking the key.")

He used a slide on the newer songs on the latest tour - notably "Persia".
