 I'm not a fan of the Hold Steady, it all sounds like Counting Crows doing a beer commercial to me.

My favorite record of the year is probably the Cure's 4-13 Dream, a record that IMO stands alongside their best work (Pornography, The Head on the Door, Disintegration).? Then again nearly 30 years of being a fan has made me more than a little biased.

My favorite record by a new artist this year was the self titled debut from Army Navy, a fantastic pop record that would appeal to fans of Teenage Fanclub or Big Star.?

-minute.html a 33 1/3rd 7 inch with 19 songs on it with a maximum running time
of a minute each - amazingly enough the vinyl sound quality is really good
although I'm guessing its stretching the physical limitations ...
