Re: (TV) OT: Most distinctive guitar sound

I've always found George Harrison's tone pretty distinctive, even on some of the earliest Beatles' records.

Maybe we can achieve a surprisingly large measure of consensus here!
I'd go for:

Verlaine
Fripp
Hendrix
Neil Young

And I'd have to put Richard Lloyd ahead of most of the others. While I love
Richard Thompson, he never strikes me as so *distinctive*.

Interesting list, Russ. Mine would be something like this:

Tom Verlaine
Robert Fripp
Robert Quine
Neil Young (does make the list for me)
Arto Lindsay
Bill Frisell
Steve Hillage
Ricky Wilson
Steve Albini
Rowland S. Howard
Zoot Horn Rollo
Tom Herman
Jimi Hendrix
Jody Harris

Probably more when I give it some thought...
