These two videos say it all: Richard Johnston is the real deal.
Johnston plays vicious slide on this handmade guitar fashioned out a
cigar box and two broomsticks strung with bass and guitar strings.
The pickups are 3 sewing machine bobbins hand-wound with bell wire.
Playing through a huge bass amp and a big fender twin while drumming
with his feet, the sound is unreal, and totally bad-ass -- think Bo
Diddly meets Morphine's Mark Sandman.
