Re: (TV) REM/minutemen version of "see no evil"

Robin, this is the recording that Leo mentioned if you just wanna hear that
version.

Re: the Hell interview w/ Watt...Mike was saying what an inspiration that
Television and Hell and the Voidoids were for him and D. Boone and gave them
the idea that they could put their own band together. The interview became a
bit 'awkward' at one point though as Mike wanted to talk about the old
Television days and Richard really didn't want to...Mike got a bit offended.
I was disappointed too as I wanted to hear him talk about it also. Richard
played some of his own record collection though, somewhat similar to what Tom
did on NPR before.

Didn't know. Listened to their first two albums a lot in high school; lost
track after that, and didn't know much about 'em personally before seeing the
doc.

I don't have that recording for you, but I notice that back in about '85 the
Minutemen seemed to play "See No Evil" in their sets or encores a bit. I
also
see that the Minutemen used to tour back then ('85) some w/ the band 'True
West' as support. That's the band that Tom produced an album for them.

Mike Watt is a big fan of Television and Richard Hell and the Voidoids and
he's interviewed Richard Hell on his show, Watt from Pedro. But maybe you
already knew this.

just watched "we jam econo", the minutemen doc. apparently the last time
they
ever played together (shortly before d. boon's death in december 1985) was
with REM -- the minutemen were opening on tour with REM -- an encore, both
bands together playing "see no evil".

anyone know if there are any recordings of this? i assume they may have
played this encore more than once.
