(TV) 2 Qs on Effects (Guitar or Other?) On Song "Brief Description"

If any of the musicians (or non-musicians) have any explanations or theories
on what these sounds might be, I'd be interested in hearing them. .

On the cd, "Around" 's track 2, entitled 'Brief Description' in addition to
Verlaine's nice guitar playing there are two strange sounds or 'effects'.

The first one sounds as if a steel cable on a suspension bridge (or a
guitar string) is getting tightened to such an extent that it begins to
creak and groan as if it were about to snap.

It is mostly the background but occasionally is heard more prominently,
specifically: from the song's 0 minute and 7 and one-half second mark to the
0 minute and 9 sec mark; from the 1 min and 1 sec. mark to the 1 min and 2
sec mark, and especially from the 1 min and 29 and one-half sec mark to 1
min and 31 sec. mark.

Could Verlaine be turning the tuning-pegs/string-posts on a second guitar
and second guitar track, or doing something else to get this strange effect?
.

There is a second type of strange sound (or effect) that seems
related/correlated to the first (in fact, they could both be being produced
by the same instrument or effect). It sounds like tapping ... as if those
steel cables on the suspension bridge (or guitar strings) are now so taut
they vibrate with a tapping sound. I.e., first the very tight cables
(strings) creak and groan followed sometimes by the cable (string) rat-a-tat
tapping:

The tapping happens most noticeably: from 0 min and 27 and one-half sec to
0 min and 30 sec; again, but louder, from 0 min and 36 sec to 0 min and 38
sec, and from 0 min and 56 sec to 0 min and 58 sec. Is the tapping some
wizardry Verlaine's doing on a second guitar (if so what does it entail)?
Or could it be Ficca doing something marvelous?

Also on tracks 12 and 15, 'A Burned Letter' and 'New', respectively,
sometimes it sounds like there is an organ playing quietly in the
background. But the "Around" credits make no mention of keyboards, just
Ficca on drums, Patrick Derivaz on bass, and Verlaine on guitar. If not an
organ, could this be a guitar mimicking a keyboard?
