Fred used to have a Fender Precision that he used a lot when I first met
him. It was what he used with the Richard Lloyd Quartet/Quintet pretty
much
all the time. He had and still has I believe an Ampeg student model bass
that had Precision pickups in it. I will ask him what he used on MM.
I seem to recall that Ampeg, and I've seen him playing a Kay that looks
like it might be short scale a couple of times. Thanks so much for
asking!
This will make me the go-between guy between two of my favorite bassists.
