I quite liked the music in Pete & Pete.  The band was called
Polaris for the show, but it was really 3/4 of another band named
Miracle Legion.  There were a couple of episodes that featured the band,
and they did most of the incidental music for the show as well as the theme
"Hey Sandy".  Music was important to the show - among its guest stars were
Michael Stipe, Syd Straw and Iggy Pop (as the uptight next-door neighbor!).

A few years back 2/3 of Polaris (or 1/2 of Miracle Legion) were the
rhythm section for Frank Black and the Catholics.
