They were also on the BBC[?] Jools Holland tv show in Feb. 3, 1993 whose
appearance exists on a short but great dvd that was released via Carried
Away. 

Verlaine and his 1982 band also on The Old Grey Whistle Test in June xy
(Most Likely June 8 Or 9 Or 10 Or 11), 1982.

It's an interesting question. I suppose it's possible that Peel asked them
and Television didn't give a positive response, but I doubt that that
happened. I wonder if Peel ever played the band on his radio show. I just
got the impression that he was never enthusiastic about Television, or Tom
Verlaine. Perhaps there was some reason...

Anyway, Television did play a session on BBC TV -- The Old Grey Whistle
Test.
