Re: (TV) Mike Watt cover of LJJ

Any opportunity to see Watt should be seized. Just for his bass playing
alone. This band's super-tight. On this tour I think they're playing his
third rock opera, which is probably the most Minutemen-esque thing he's done
post-Minutemen. Seen 'em do it a few times in the last six months or so, and
dug it every time.

Mike's a big TV/Richard Hell fan.

Been following Watt for his entire career - huge fan (and a bass player).
The latest operas are pretty awesome - dense and engaging. Watt's a big
Coltrane
fan, and it shows.
I'm going to see him Oct 15, and I've lost count...10th time?
Morales is pretty great, too.

Hi all -

I don't think I've seen this mentioned: There's a live cover of Little Johnny
Jewel at Mike Watt & The Missingmen's MySpace page
(https://www.myspace.com/missingmen).
Although that fat bass line is pretty perfect for Watt, the version strikes me
as a little ... inelegant?

I was looking at the page because I'm trying to decide if I want to see the
band
live. I've never seen any of the post-Minutemen bands, and my only exposure to
live Minutemen was through "We Jam Econo." Any opinions?
