RE: (TV) Blue Robe (vocal Version)

I dont really have a problem with television continuing without lloyd, as long
as they are doing new stuff that jimmy can contribute to. but to do marquee
moon is such a backwards looking thing it just doesnt work for a number of
reasons

1. ripp will only be compared unfavourably to lloyd - if he plays exactly what
lloyd does on the
album, he's just copying, if he doesnt then "he's doing it
wrong
2. albums are designed to be listened to in the house, the running order you
play a gig is seldom the running order you'd use for an album
3. whats the point ? yes, its the best version of television you'll see, but
its not as satisfying as a new show would be with some oldies thrown in

I loved suicide when they did their first album in london, but thats because
it sounded nothing much like the original.

I'd go and see them if it was close by, and I'm sure I'd enjoy it, but if it
was billed as "Tom Verlaine Television" then I'd be more comfortable with it,
plus they could open it up and do more verlaine solo stuff.
