This reminds of a few stories. One other (apparently) positive thing I reca
ll Tom saying about Blondie is from an old interview where he recalls heari
ng an advance copy of the  "Heart of Glass" single & saying that when he 
first  heard it he said "This is going to sell a million copies." 
De
bbie tells a few interesting stories in a BBC Blondie Doc. called "One Way 
or Another". As postitnote-Deb says, Debbie & Patti didn't get on well.

ebbie recalls Patti coming up to her once in CBGBs in the early days & tell
ing her she had no talent & shouldn't even be on stage singing.

londie's subsequent success gave Debbie last laugh on that one. Presumably,
  Patti wasn't too pleased either when somehow Blondie was chosen to open
 for Television on Television's first British tour. In the doc,. Debbie com
plains that on that tour Television designated just a tiny, cramped section
 of  the stage for Blondie to play on, but when Television's set started 
, they had the whole stage.

Note his appreciation for Debbie Harry! I do
n't think I've ever seen that before. As I've said before... if Debbie Harr
y had been the lead vocalist for Television, this list would have thousands
 of members, and the CBGBs movie would prominently feature Television. Perh
aps they poached the wrong member from Blondie back in 1975?? :)
