AAAUUUGGGHHHH!!!!   the horror.... the horror....

See, the thing is about guitars like Tom's (or Willie Nelson's for that matter),
the guitar's about 10% of it.  Tom can make a piece of crap guitar sound like 
gold; just having the same pickups isn't going to do it.

I've heard that if you can get close enough to Willie to ask to try his
guitar, he'll let you just so he can laugh at how bad it sounds played by
anybody but him.

This thing... with its mistakenly routed body, badly fitting neck. no
shielding (you KNOW it hums like a mofo) - it's got to sound FANTASTIC.
No, wait - what's the opposite of fantastic?  That's what it must sound 
like.
