(TV) Oh, the irony.

So, it's after 2 and I'm really beat, but I'll write this quickie review of the
"AND THE BEAT GOES ON: NUGGETS" show I and Scott Aldrich went to see tonight at
the Bottom Line in NYC. I'll try to write a fuller review in the morning:

- Amazing show with great performances of classic songs. Many sounded better
live than they have ever sounded to me on record. Highlights included
"Psychotic Reaction", "Incense and Peppermints", "Are you a Boy or a Girl",
"Wooly Bully", "Nobody But Me", "Dirty Water", "I'm Gonna Make You Mine", "Hey
Joe", "Don't Look Back", and waaaaay too many others to mention.
- Great house band - members from Patti Smith's band, John Cougar Mellencamp's
band, etc.
- On the program, Richard Lloyd was scheduled to play "I Need You", the
brilliant Kinks song covered by the Rationals on NUGGETS, but...
- ...there was one no-show, and it was Richard Lloyd!!! They didn't even
announce it - he just never appeared or played.
