Look, I think you're right here. 

And you have every right, of course, to say exactly what you feel - I
don't think anyone is arguing that point. I could argue all day about
the relative merits of my particular favourites, but I prefer to do it
without insulting you or anyone else. I don't have anything that I need
to prove by doing that.

Seems simple to me (or does that just make me one of the conservatives
that you're talking about?)
