This geetar bidding war puts me in mind of that old R Hell pic in which
he's wearing that "punk" B Bunny tee, customized to read "Bugs Bunny has
too much money!"  (Along w/alot of other folks thank you Dow Jones.)
IMHO it seems like most collecting these days has taken a turn for the
worse, as the emphasis now is not to buy what you dig &/or can use, but
just to acquire it 1) because you can, & 2) it's likely to appreciate in
value. Sometimes think that this dismal change is linked to stories in
the 80s re b ball trading cards, McD Happy Meals toys (still sealed!)
going for big bucks, which made lots of people who normally wouldn't
care about "vintage" stuff begin to, & make it very difficult for the
folks who really do to score some cool stuff for p-nuts. The foregoing
notwithstanding, that 15K bid gladdens my heart, 'cause it's going to
the ever-deserving Mr V, & we won't have to hold a bake sale after all,
yippee!
One more thing, tx to those who contributed the info re GTO shoes, D
Tracy tees, & Japanese VU lyric sheets--that's news I can always use.
