Re: (TV) Soft Boys

yeah heavy & a bottle of bread for the ONLY ONES!
john perry's guitars were so fucking over the top!....remarkable!
the 3 official only ones recs (the debut, even serpents shine & baby's got a gun) were released respectively 78, 79, 80.
they broke up shortly after the 3rd....(& the 1st to have a concurrent us/uk release).
there's a posthumously-released set called "remains" which includes outtakes from the unfinished 4th, there's a lean & hard rocking peel sessions full-length & there's a live in london, released variously under different guises.
not to mention other boots (mostly live) i've owned & seen thru the years.
also check out peter perrett's 96 solo disc on demon called "woke up sticky".
not as beginning to end crucial nor mind-blowing as prime only ones, but the flame's still there.

Also, on my drive from Atlanta to Wilimington, NC over this weekend, I listened to a lot of Only Ones--man they were great. And their lead guitarist also sounds a lot like richard lloyd (but there I think it may be coincidence) when were the only ones records released?
