(TV) The demographics of downloading music



Interesting article here:

It cites a Pew Charitable Trusts study on who's downloading mp3s of music from the 'net. Two interesting findings: more of them fit the 30-49 demographic than the college-age demo, and many of them subsequently go out and buy the discs that were the original source of the mp3s.

Interesting, especially in light of the recent firestorms. Napster as a promotional tool? People leaving tips for the artists? Sounds like it, from this study.
