I've got friends who think that after Hell left Television they weren't
nearly as good. I could never understand that. Apparently the band rocked
more with Hell. The word boring kept turning up, to this day they'll still
say the same thing, TV was a better band with Richard Hell. I guess what I'm
getting at it is it's all relative, had I heard or seen Tin Huey before
Chris Butler joined the group perhaps I would've felt the same. Since my
introduction came when I saw them open for TV and Cale I thought they were
great. I had nothing else to go on. The same with Television. It would be
years before I ever heard any tapes with Hell in the band. When I did I
didn't agree with my friends. I think they were just a little to close to it
all at the time. I'd love to hear earlier Tin Huey to hear if they sounded
all that different. I'll take Gary up on the offer. Thanks, M T C
