It's possible to have both. a good groove can be an inspiration all
by itself. I believe Tom is very well aware of this, as, of course,

I remember (the great) Michael Stipe once saying that he first listened to
Horses when he was quite young whilst eating a bowl full of black cherries . As he reached the title track , he became so worked up and disturbed that he
vomited the whole lot back up again . Let's all be thankful we like music
like this , music that inspires something , rather than defining 'having a
good beat' as being a good song .

We are all immortals .
