RE: (TV) Mechanical Drumming

Am pretty sure all the tracks on The Wonder are from a drum machine (and pretty leaden tracks to my ears) which are 2 reasons I do not rate this album as high as his others.

Did Andy Newmark play or program the drums?  To my ears many of the tunes
sound like fairly simplistic drum machine programs.
