Re: (TV) OT: Strokes

I just bought the Strokes CD & you know it does sound kind of like a Knack album. They were hailed with the they're "the next television" thing, but I thought the songs were vaguely Iggy Pop like, although I actually haven't listened to Iggy in a long time, and I have listened to the Strokes CD only twice. On the CD sometimes the vocals seemed to be "putting me on" in some way I don't entirely like.
Haven't yet seen them live, I have heard other people say they're great & I look forward to getting a chance to see them.

Their live show sold me on them. I dislike the production of the LP -- to me 
it sounds like a Knack album with all of the lead guitar removed.  But live
they absolutely smoked.
