Re: (TV) Byrds Clarification



Okay, as per Johnny Rogan's excellent "Timeless Flight Revisited"( well
worth ordering from Amazon UK) McGuinn was they only Byrd who played on the
first single, the rest being LA hotshots like Hal Blaine.  However, after
that they decided they'd rather do it themselves.  They did employ session
men for various tracks and frequently another drummer when things got a
little too, er, fractious (I believe it's Jim Gordon on "Goin' Back," for
example). And the internal arguments in Television might pale to what's
documented in Rogan's book or the "hidden" track on the "Notorious Byrds
Brothers" reissue.

And on another topic, let's not forget Mike Nesmeth gave the world "Repo
Man."  Of course, he also gave it Jimmy  Buffet and Whoopi Goldberg, too...
