Re: (TV) Echo (Round 1)

Philip, I think the Rain Parade are one of those great lost bands whose
legacy will only grow over the years. I like Dave robacks simple psychedelia
so much I went out an bought the Opal record and all of Mazzy Star ( but I'm
not a super big Mazzy fan, that music is just a little too tranquil) .The
Rain Parade were for me, my second great discovery after Television. And
somewhere about the same time The Dream Syndicate ( Leo, why don't you like
the Dream Syndicate ? ) For me, both the Rain Parade and the Dream Syndicate
have powerful guitar players a la Verlaine/Lloyd, memorable songs and
distinctive styles. Certainly no other bands sounded quite like them at the
time. I saw the Rain Parade back in 1983 I think it was. What a great show !
