RE: (TV) collector's choice mix

Does anyone have any idea if Collector's Choice came to 
the realization that the wrong master tape/mix had been 
used independently, i.e., on their own? 

Or was it Verlaine OR the bold and pestering efforts of 
the founder of the Marquee Moon List, aka 'Sir Philip'?
