(TV) OT: Help in New Orleans needed

My other favorite band, Ween is playing at Jazz Fest this year. I am
intending to go but have no clue about this city. I heard it will be
impossible to get a room in the French Quarter at this point, what I need to
know is what area is the never most desirable for proximity to the shows.
They are playing at the Orpheum and State Palace venues.
