(TV) OT: Richard Thompson

Saw Richard Thompson at the Aladdin Theater Tuesday night here in Portland,
Oregon. What a great show. What can be said about RT that hasn't already been
said ? He burned white hot like a blow torch. This was my third time seeing
him and my first time with a band. He played some amazing electric guitar -
stuff that would seem impossible. Played "Hard On me" with a passion that
reminded me of live recordings of "Shoot out the Lights" (which he didn't
play). For an encore he played "Crazy Man Michael", I would never have thought
I would get to hear that. Almost didn't get to see the show because it had
been sold out for weeks but my fianci and I decided to see if we could find
some tickets anyway . Well , we did and the silliness of asking every person
who walked by in front of us if they had an extra ticket paid off. Richard
Thompson, a wooly mammoth of guitar and song ! - Russ
