RE: (TV) Just wood and wire: amp advice

My two cents: Peavey Classic 30 or 50 - I have a discontinued Classic 20 and
it is by far my favorite amp, sounding great with Strat, Les Paul, or Rick
12. I've played through the other models and they're the same, but louder
(in fact, a Classic 30 is one of the house amps at Manitoba's - or at least
it was a few years ago). These are also economical and reliable, and the
support through the forums is great. Peavey has something of a down-market
reputation, but the stuff works and sounds like it's supposed to. Check out
the Bandit as well - it's solid state but let's be honest, no one comes up
to you at a gig and says "Hey, what kind of tubes do you use?"
